WIP track for the Doleful Creatures EP.
Been working on this one for awhile now. I think it needs a full band treatment and maybe even some group singing/harmony on the chorus bits.
Cliché: I was listening to a lot of The Band when I came up with this song.

Yeah, from note 1 it's got that Richard Manuel thing going on. Which is awesome.
Love to hear it on a beat up old piano in an old wooden room.

i love it. I can hear the Band influences, but it's not a shameless ripoff. well done.

Yeah, I really want the band (The Band?) at 2'30. Your vocal tone when you switch into another register (head voice? falsetto? I can never tell) on the hook 'Laaaaay..." is wonderful.
It's strongly reminding me of something else apart from the Band but I can't think want right now -- it'll come to me...

You guys are too nice! I really should work this into its next iteration, adding band parts and such. Ah, but I still need to do my Wasteland song too! Ohhh so many things I want to do all the things

Wow, it's really been bugging me who this reminded me of. A little bit of the Shins, a little bit Dustin Kensrue, but I think I finally figured it out.
Great song, anyway. I wondered about a tiny touch of tube distortion on the vocal. I almost hear it on the first couple of lines and then I want a bit more.
