Anything For Her

The penultimate track from my record "Innocent Explanations" is a Mick Taylor-era Stones-inspired romp with a nod to the harmonic sophistication of Andy Partridge.

In case any one has been following along, in literally every song on this record there have been some kind of interruption to the drum tracks over the course of the song - some kind of stop. That was part happy accident, part deliberate - I just wanted to orchestrate drum tracks pretty specifically. (It also gave us the luxury of sticking the beginning of one take on to the end of another take, if necessary, although come to think of it, I don't think it was.) Anyway, for this song, I just simply asked the drummer to stop playing at the beginning of verse two. He came up with a great re-entrance fill a la Charlie Watts, and there you have it - problem solved!
