On The Day

A short little love song for the woman i married this weekend.

Knew I wanted to sing something for my wife at our wedding this past weekend, so wrote this little thing. Plonked it down the day before so I could listen and remember the words. It's a little rough, just Uke, Guitar and my voice in to logic with next to no mixing:

I never though I'd have a bedtime
That's what old folks do
I never thought I'd visit Portland
Or the San Diego Zoo

I never thought I'd write this love song
Until the day I met you

We always dreamed of California
Let's go touch that setting sun
We held our breath and jumped together
But never thought this day would come

I'd never thought I'd write this love song
Until the day I met you

I never thought I've have a best friend and a lover
I thought those days had come and gone
I never thought I'd have a house and dog named Fin
Never thought I'd crave a son

I always knew I'd write this love song since the day I met you.

You've got a nice, relaxed, storytelling kind of voice. The song sounds good "a little rough", sounds just like it ought to.

"Sounds just like it ought to" is a perfect description. Very sweet, well done. I also think the tone of your singing voice is really nice, you should post more if you've got them!
