ShH 5t: Angel's Hymn
December 23, 2014 2:18 PM
Arrangement of Angel's Hymn, No. 5t in the Shenandoah Harmony. First verse by Isaac Watts 1706, Second verse by Thomas Kelly, 1802. Original composition by Orlando Gibbons, 1623.
The lands that long in darkness lay
Now have beheld a heav'nly light;
Nations that sat in death's cold shade
Are bless'd with beams divinely bright.
We've no abiding city here,
Sad truth were this to be our home,
But let this thought our spirits cheer:
We seek a city yet to come.
I made a music video to go along with the song. Just a little drive through Kensington on a December evening.
The lands that long in darkness lay

Nations that sat in death's cold shade
Are bless'd with beams divinely bright.
