Las Cuevas Hacen Eco En Sacromonte

Scratching an itch for flamenco.
I happened to be lost in Granada many moons ago, having missed my Alhambra ticket, and happened to chance upon this live flamenco performance in one of them venues built into a cave.
I had been entranced by the genre ever since, so between applying for jobs and taking care of a baby, thought it'll be fun to sample some (Creative-Commons-shared) voice and guitar loops into a song-like arrangement.
Don't speak or sing Spanish - I don't even play a steel guitar well (although now I should) - just produced some sounds with a basic feel for chords and beats. Enjoy!

I really liked the sparse, open feel at the start of this. It always surprises me how entirely those little clicky clappy flamenco rhythms can carry a piece without the need for anything more substantial.

Haha, yes! That sparse beat was indeed one of the musical itches I was trying to scratch. Was quite struck by how the live flamenco pieces I've heard invariably started with an unaccompanied vocal prelude, and how the dancers sort of went into a trance with the beat. Felt it was like the aalaap and taal in Hindustani (north Indian classical) music.
Wanted to explore particularly those aspects, musically speaking; thanks for noticing! :)
