Want Trouble

Moody, jazzy little tune that explodes towards the end. About the delicious dread of falling in love when both people have baggage. This is my second big attempt at faking swing drums, so pointers would be helpful. As per usual, I started out wanting a sparse mix but it got away from me a bit.

Crash course in good design. I'm falling for everything on you mind this evening. My head feels light like a child's, a child well in hand. In a Bordeaux colored kitchen, all done up on gin with a the cucumber in. But for all of this it's your grin that's doing me in.

We say that we don't / know that we do. Know that we do want trouble.
Head heavy with horns, covered in thorns, coming for you, my bubble.

When you say, "oh baby you're sweet. All of these things that you're doing to me." You should know that I'll only do what I wanted to. Torn apart by beautiful beasts: these pieces of me that you'll come to love the least. But then we both have secrets we'll keep for another week or so at least.

We'll say that we don't. Of course we do. Of course we do want trouble. Head heavy with horns. Roses and thorns: a bouquet for you, my bubble.
And ain't we lucky?

Wow this sounds so nice, really.
I live the live-ness of it.

It sounded especially cool when I played it simultaneously with the previous song, Vox Inhumana (Foosnark).

This ticks lots of boxes for me. Partner (who's old enough to know) wandered in at the beginning and said "sounds like early Kinks" so do with that what you will. Thanks for posting.

hah! I've actually been listening to a ton of Kinks recently (thanks to my brother, who's younger than me, but has better taste). I hadn't thought about them while recording or mixing, but they must have slipped in. Certainly, they're a band that often made the best music out of the humblest recording budget. So it scans that my ears have been picking up tricks.

And hey! It does line up nicely with the key and mood of foosnark's tune.

I think this is great. Forgive me for this, because comparisons are always in the ear of the beholder, but this song sounds to me to live in the vicinity of one of my favorite brazilian artists, Siba with the vibes and the cleanish electric guitars.
