Hate That Train That Carried My Girl From Town
Here's the SMOKE BENDERS, live in Toyama, Japan, from March 2012. The sound is a little gymnasium-y, due to the fact that the gig was in a gymnasium. I'm on electric talking drum for this one. Video here.
Lonesome Whistle
Here's the Smoke Benders, folks. We took Hank Williams' lamentation of an unlucky prisoner from its original waltz time and put a NOLA second line feel under it. Cause, hey, who doesn't like a NOLA second line feel, right? Video at YouTube and Vimeo.

I Used To Hate You But Now I Love You
This month's Challenge got me to thinking: with 'hate' being such a profound and powerful emotion, isn't it odd that there are really so few songs that really employ it as an idea or as inspiration? I mean, 'love'? Heck, you can't spit without hitting a love song, but hate, that's a different story. So anyway, this is a song of hate and love. Love and hate. Simple as that. Video here.
Trying To Boogie
From deepest Ikebukuro, in the heart of downtown Tokyo, it's the Smoke Benders, trying our damndest to boogie, y'all. Video here.
Bringabye
Once again, friends, it's the Smoke Benders: Daysuke on tuba, Naoya on drums, and me on pocket drill, diddley bow, light-triggered synth and vox. Live in Toyama, Japan. Video here.
Whole Bag of Wrong
Here's another one from the Smoke Benders' recent Hokuriku tour. Clocking in at 8 minutes, it's a wee bit longer than previously posted tunes here. It goes through summa them changes and all, and includes some psychedelic diddley bow solos. Video here.
