Instrumental demo written/recorded as first-takes after reading this post about the recording of The Cure's Disintegration album. Consider it a comment for the Disintegration post. And please excuse the mix, as it was hastily done.
In keeping with the Disintegration theme, it begins with 8 seconds of silence.

This is a quiet, meditative, minimalist instrumental piano piece, with occasional visits by vibes, fretless bass and lap steel guitar. You might want to play it somewhat loudly to hear some of the softer notes. Do you think it's finished, or should I add something? [more inside]

An instrumental track that went under the working title "pseudo-eastern." Most prominently features guitars, lap steel, fretless bass and programmed sitar sounds. The subtle percussion is a spinner ring kind of like this one, run through a healthy dose of reverb. [more inside]

A slow, two line piece on classical guitar, not really in a medieval style but I wasn't sure what else to call it! Hope everyone who takes the time to listen to it enjoys it. [more inside]

Another laid back instrumental guitar piece. I recorded a lead line for it, actually I probably recorded about 10, but then decided it was nice enough by itself. Hope you all agree and enjoy it!

Instrumental guitar piece in 7/8 time signature - took a lot of concentration and I think it shows, not the most expressive piece but its melodic and flows better than I expected.
Hope its enjoyed by all!

Whats that you say? You liked Togther but wonder what it would sound like played on an electric guitar? With chorus and reverb? What a happy coincidence! Wrap your ears around this!

You liked Together - now hear the cover, jazzed up. Short lively instrumental cover of my own work. Vanity at its best.

Acoustic guitar instrumental cover of a very popular song, I won't mention the artist, perhaps a commenter can spill the beans :) Recorded in two parts.

A fast boppy instrumental guitar piece, recorded in one take and as the title suggests, its a little rough around the edges. A little rocky in sections, would be interesting with distorted electric guitar with bass and drums behind it. Hope everyone enjoys it!

No the most imaginitive title, I wrote this for a friend who was meant to put lyrics onto it and never got around to it - its lengthy at about 4 and a half minutes, the second guitar melody kicks in half way through. Slow, relaxing and as always, hope its enjoyed by all who listen to it.

Instrumental guitar cover of The Rose by Bette Middler. Done in one take, as its recorded with just one guitar line theres been a few compromises with the melody. Also a few dud notes but every time I tried to re record it the cats kept getting in the way!
Perfect for Mothers Day which is coming up here in Australia.

Next in my "Can I Play" Series. I'm not a natural jazz player (as you'll hear) but always wanted to be. I thought I'd give it a go with this piece, and I've titled it "Silly Jazz" as its ... well pretty silly really. Theres a few slipped/buzzed notes in there but you get the drift :)

Slow, melodic piece I wrote for a friend of mine to give them something to chill out to - similar in style to all my previous pieces (except the electric guitar ones obviously)

Recorded in two parts, its a soothing slow piece. Not overly long or complex. It got its name as when I came up with the first guitar line, someone fell asleep while listening.

My family used to take holidays down in Mollymook, and I came up with this one while there. The mood of the piece reflects the mood I was in, its relaxed, slow and languid. Hope it takes you there.

Instrumental guitar piece, played on my classical guitar but might be suited to an electric guitar. I wanted to see if I could pull off a rocky sounding piece on a nylon string guitar. As always, hope its enjoyed by all

Stylistically I'm not sure where this piece sits, the opening scale is a little Middle Eastern (deliberately) but the rest of the piece ... well have a listen and see what you think. I always intended to record a lead guitar over the top (but never got around to doing it...), so its a little repetitive in the middle section.

Fast moving piece performed on my classical guitar - I think I'd had too much caffiene when I came up with this one, its short, fast moving, and hectic (as the name suggests).

Recorded in three parts, on my classical guitar. Theres some dissonance in the melody, its reasonably polyphonic in sections, I was experimenting and I'm not 100% sure it works, but the tune sticks in my head after I've heard it. Hope the dissonance doesn't make too many people wince, and its enjoyed by all.

A lengthy (slightly self indulgent) electric guitar piece, I've performed it live with drums and bass but this is recorded just with guitars. Its quite rocky, especially half way through the piece. Bit of a change of pace from my previous postings, hope everyone likes what they hear. If anyone wants to record some drums for it I'd be happy to hear it!

Second in the "Can I play" series... I'm not formally trained in flamenco in any way shape or form, and listening to professional flamenco players and then this reveals that I can't play flamenco. But I did want to call it Faux Flamenco so I guess it sits in that style well enough.
In fact its really bad - since I use a pick in the first section! In my defence, I don't have nails.
It starts out slow but ramps up dramatically later on.

Classical guitar instrumental, written while thinking about the loss of a long time friend, which was a bittersweet moment. Its in a major key, with a bit of a melancholy feel to it.

A little upbeat piece I came up with one day mucking around with some friends - not the greatest recording quality, the microphone I used was actually one of those headsets that I clamped over the guitar. Still its one of my favourites, hope everyone gets into it.

I went through a phase of naming my pieces in Spanish as I always find it hard to come up with names for instrumental pieces - its still just as trite as in English but it makes me feel better.
Anyway this is a slow relaxing instrumental guitar piece.

Instrumental piece on a classical guitar, recorded with two parts. Kind of slow, relaxing, and was an attempt to make slight harmonic clashes easier on the ear. Don't worry, its not twelve tone serialism or anything!

I just came up with this and recorded it on the H2 (I upped the volume a bit in Audition afterward). I'm pretty bad at finger picking and this owes a lot to John Fahey and Roy Harper. Not that they're bad at finger picking.... There's a faster and shorter version as well, but I liked the drone of this one more.
