everything's a sign of you
had to record a loud song / here is one
I've Got a Sickness
I made a Rock and Roll. I like Rock and Roll. [more inside]
Picture of You
A driving four-on-the-floor guitar song recorded by my band Boeufcake. [more inside]
Riptide
A silly pop song that I wrote for my band Boeufcake. We've been playing together for years, but we have few recordings worthy of sharing due to the tediousness of multitracking and the shit kicking good time we'd rather have drinking beer and playing loud. Be aware, there's a couple naughty words in this song. [more inside]
Crazy Baby, Lazy Charlie
In 1993 I spent every weekend between the Spring Bank Holiday recording songs that I'd written on my four-track tape recorder. I'm not sure where they came from. On August Bank Holiday Monday I mixed down the final album - It's Amazing What Some People Can Believe - and copied it onto C90 cassettes. The run almost reached double figures. A raging success, then.
This is the first track on Side One. The almost fifteen years' distance allows me to admit that I like it very much.
Mark Foo's Last Ride
Mark Foo rewrote the rules of big-wave surfing and turned it into a high-stakes, high-profile thrill show. So when the biggest, baddest new surf break -- Mavericks -- started to churn out 40-foot waves in December 1994, it was inevitable that he'd be there. This tune celebrates his last ride.
Previous tunes here and here.
Balkan Red Alert, Part I
Balkan-tinged surf-rock ode to Gavril Princip from Cesare Gorgeous & The Strange Attractors. That's me (Cesare) on, um, everything. Previously in the same ilk: A Theory of Everything. More to come.
A Theory of Everything
Twangsome surf-rock from The Strange Attractors, recorded when I should have been writing screenplays. That's me kicking the reverb tank at the beginning.
