Never Alone

I thought I'd toss up a recent demo I'm unsure about and see what the feedback is. There are big problems with the drums, chorus vocals, lead guitar, to name a few, but those are easily fixed, if it's worth it. Sounds like Uncle J on the bass.

This doesn't sound half-assed at all. Your performances, all, are really good. It's just a matter of nailing down your recording technique. You'll get it.
Re-recording: I feel the same way, it's like not finding that feeling of discovery or something. I'm no great musician or anything, but I do try to write hooks and stuff that are tireless so that no matter how many takes I do, I'm still having fun trying to nail 'em.
I think this song is excellent and so is the execution. It just sounds like to could tweak and tune your recording stuff. I'm looking forward to more!

i like it. i'm definitely a first-taker when i do music, but that means i've also done stuff that really should have been redone. i think one solution would be to have someone remix and master your original so you get the right feeling AND a better sounding final recording. of course, you probably have about as many talented producers begging to mix and master your home demos as i do. the other thing to try might be to do a new version that's radically rearranged, so you don't feel like you're trying to re-create the original.
