Something a friend and I made awhile ago

A friend and I made this about a year ago. Since then we've stopped making music, but we'd like to start up again, so I figured I'd post this and get some feedback and criticism so we have a better of idea what to do.

I keep waiting for it to really kick in. The guitar is peppy and upbeat, but the lyrics are subdued: I wanted them to jump up an octave or so, have a fancy pantsy bridge, a different chorus or verse.

I agree with rhapsodie, but are you looking to enhance this song or find ways to be motivated to play more?
