Freezeframe Shutters

I am not sure how this happened.
Seriously. I don't know what I did. I mean I sort of do, but I also don't. If you know what I mean. I'm pleased with it though, so it doesn't matter. Maybe you will like it too. Someone elsewhere described it as comedy horror, but I'm not sure I know what that is. See what you think.

Dude, this is SOFA KING fantastic! But the solo needs to come earlier (maybe have the aye-ya-yai the second time around be only half as long) and it (the solo) should be in a completely different key -- just suddenly -- and then coming back to the original key afterward. That's my 2 cents.

Ah, this is insane! And it's awesome. I'm glad you figured out that whatever it was.

I'm reminded very much of Danny Elfman and, as mentioned above, Tom Waits. Love that solo, deliciously warped sound.

Right. Given that this is an ideal entry for the mefimusicchallenge of things tagged 'lotsofnotes', 'tomwaitsimpression' or 'spooky', and given that this was uploaded only slightly before the challenge, I am retroactively adding 'lotsofnotes' and 'mefimusichallenge' as tags on this tune and thus entering the challenge.
My profuse apologies if this is bad bad badness of me (the track /was/ uploaded before the challenge was but only just before) and I will remove those tags if people think I should.
Meanwhile, I'm not adding 'spooky' because it isn't, not to me at least, and nice though it is to be compared to Tom Waits who is a great hero of mine musicially, this was not explicitly or deliberately an impression as such, so no 'tomwaitsimpression' tag.
If it turns out that people are allowed to enter these things twice I might well have a go at something with all three tags, but I'll have to check as I don't know the rules on this.
This is a very longwinded comment. You could probably listen to the whole tune twice while reading it.

This is great! Please, please, enter the mefimusicchallenge again. I would love to hear what happens if you were actually trying for a Tom Waits impression.

motty, you can enter as many damn times as you want, if it's this entertaining. Really, you can even if it's not: there's no specific limit on challenge submissions, so listen to the lady. More!

This is bad and you should feel bad.
This is a great tune. Even if there were rules against shenanigans like entering more than one challenge or whatever, those rules would be broken for songs like this.
Anyway, I thought (I'm not a musician) that the challenge was primarily to get people to write music, not to win prizes or anything. So if you're writing music (and we can hear that you're writing great music) then the MuFi Challenge has lived up to its purpose.
