Fairytale

December 11, 2007 7:57 AM

Mostly acoustic strumming. Maybe the simplest song I've ever written - but I like it, for a' that.

You can live your life in a fairytale
And sail your ship alone
By the light of a star that has no name
That you can call your own

But watch for the rocks in the ocean spray
And pray to god you're strong
For starlight fades and dreams decay
And faith can steer you wrong

You can live your life in a fairytale
And set off down the bend
Through the dusty space where worlds collide
And stories come to end

But wolves keep watch on lonely roads
For those who sometimes stray
And if the hunter falls asleep
Then who will save your day?

You can live your life in a fairytale
And end it just the same
There's a whole wide world that never cared
But no-one there to blame

The final flight is all your own
Beyond the pain you feel
So reach for the sky and spread your wings
And pray to god they're real...

That was sweet. Nice crispy guitar playin' too.

I love this. I like the sort of medieval sound of the riff first used in the intro-- almost like a lute. I like your lyrics too. Excellent.
