King Kong Song

December 24, 2007 2:29 PM

This is the second song I wrote when I started learning the guitar in February. This was when I could not sing as I played guitar unless I sang one syllable per strum. Starts slow, but the second half is kind of fun so don't give up right away.

Not necessarily humorous, not necessarily serious.

It's 2 a.m., I take a walk in the woods by myself.
A narrow path, dark corridor, dirt on the wooded floor.

Chorus: I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish I was King Kong.

Then I'd be alright by myself in the woods tonight
Take a nap anywhere I want nothing to haunt King Kong.

Chorus

I want my own private island on the ocean, please.
I'd fight T-Rex and break his necks, pound my chest and roar.

Chorus

A tiny village to worship me is all I want.
Swing from my trees, jump from my cliffs, on my private island.

Chorus

If I'm King Kong I won't climb that big building, I promise.
I would just play on my island, don't need any friends.

Chorus over and over and over and over.

I like it too and I'm glad you put the lyrics in because I was saying "wish what? wish WHAT?"

I'm listening to everything from the past couple of weeks, from 'more recent' to 'older', so I discovered your other song first. Now I see what sleepy pete was talking about. I like your songs a lot, too. So I'll join the request that you keep posting them.

I feel like I'm hanging out in REM's parents' basement when they were teenagers.
