At The Airport

January 13, 2008 12:01 AM

Another song from my forthcoming album "Save You From Yourself", featuring my buddy Michael Spaly on mandolin.

The idea of this song came from looking down from an airplane window at the houses below during takeoff.

This song existed as a crappy demo for a few years before I gave it a proper recording. I play all the instruments except for mandolin, which was provided by Michael Spaly, a multi-instrumentalist who plays in a ton of bands here in Seattle.

Michael basically improvised his parts over 3-4 takes, then I went back and stitched together some of the best-sounding bits. Enjoy!

Another nice one! There is a warmth to your vocal that I enjoy. And the mandolin is pretty great -- it really adds interest.

This is really good. My wife is always trying to turn me on to folk stuff, but this is much better. She loves it too btw.

I wish I could say something to equal the joy that this song's giving me right now, but I can't.

Except, thank you--it's perfect.
