Reservoir

A song about the places that are the most emblematic of your teenage years and the people who you enjoyed spending your time with there.

My first post and one of my first goes at a proper production so it's not mixed great and there's a few clicks and pops here and there but what the hey. Enjoy!

I think your voice sounds great when it goes higher, so that was really cool. Maybe just me, but perhaps this song is a tad bit longer than it's meant to be? That could be dependent on the lyrics, though, which I didn't really catch.

Welcome to MuFi!

Oops, yeah, there's 20 seconds of silence at the end which shouldn't have been there, didn't set my export in and out points correctly. All part of the learning process though! Thanks for your comments!

That's true, but it's not really what I meant. I meant that right before the drum roll I expected the song to be over. But now that I'm listening again, I love what comes in at the 3:30 mark, so maybe that break in the song could be reworked to function better.

What is it that comes in at 3:30?

It's sequenced violin, with a filter, reverb and some MIDI pitchwheeling on it, gives it a weird synthy sound. I know what you mean though, maybe some arrangement changes would make it a bit more economical

I can't help but think that this is what it would sound like if Jeff Buckley and Joy Division did a song with the Shins! Nice Work!
