Go Home Metronome

May 13, 2008 7:38 PM

An exhausting afternoon called for extensive multitracking and math-rocking minus the thinking part.

Ingredients:

Casiotone
Guitar
Banjo
Shoes, them banging together
Hands, banging shoes together
etc.

You could have visited a neighborhood on a afternoon, recording sounds while walking od the 'manhole cover being ran over', 'water sprinkler as you passed', 'someone saying hello in the background', 'a garage door opening', 'a blinker at a four way', 'kids on a bicycle', 'lawn mower', 'weed eater', then closed it with the rest of the music and that would have been a exhaustive afternoon for sure. The recording would then seem full and not missing anything.

I agree with bluefiltration's assessment, except you don't need to add those extra sounds; the music evokes them all already. Probably because I was reading that comment while listening. In any case, I like this a lot, it feels like it would fit well as incidental music for anything, or just by itself.
