Theme From Squidboner

For this month's challenge, in the "Spy Music" category.
I'm a bit frustrated, because I had a really clear idea in my head of the sound I wanted for this one but it's been a busy month and tomorrow we're going on vacation to dial-up-only land for 2 weeks. So I kind of dashed this one off this afternoon because it was my last chance. I really wanted an authentic, 1973 kind of thing but I just didn't have the time and so I had to rush...I didn't get the sounds I was looking for but maybe you'll get the gist of what it was meant to be....
I probably could have re-used my entry from the "Superhero" challenge for this one, but that would have been wrong.

You win just because of Squidboner. Although it's a fun song, too, reminiscent of (oddly enough) that Arling and Cameron release "Music For Imaginary Films." Fits right into that category, as well.

Cool! The wah wah guitar edges this into a kind of a blaxploitation spy movie groove. And we can dig it. And the world's loudest guiro at the top of the tune, which is also cool. And squelchy, filtery synth. What's not to like?
This is very nice indeed for "dashed off", chococat.
And I know you were in a big hurry, but you know what would've been groovy, right? Some icing for this cake. Of course, I'm talking some horns.

Yes, it has a porno kind of thing going, and definitely a dash of Coffy/Cleopatra Jones/Shaft etc.
Ha, I so wanted a guiro sound and was even going to run out and buy one, but I didn't have the time so I grabbed an old washboard (my great-grandfather had a company that made them) and played it with the blunt end of an exacto knife.
Horns would have rocked.
What's a squid boner?
Spy movies...Bond...stupid titles...

Exactly! Washboards are indeed the world's biggest guiro, and have a long and noble tradition in jug band, zydeco, blues and related folk musics of north America.

If you hadn't mentioned you were in a hurry I probably wouldn't say anything, but yeah: there is probably room for some horns. You got great mileage out of those synth sounds, though.

This is the part where the Spy turns the tables back, just when it looks like all hope is lost. Go Spy, go!
