Prog! Math! Horns!
The intro to this tune came to me, quite literally, in a dream--11/8 time signature, quartal harmonies, and all--and I realized it needed the full avant-prog treatment.
Thanks to Tom Dambly (trumpet), Mike Freitas (drums), Chris Now (trombone), and Craig Polson (bass). I played C-melody saxophone. Recorded in 1996.

Oh bloody hell! this is mental. I wasn't expecting a song like this here at all and it was a great surprise. Do you guys still play together or was it more like a session thing?

It was strictly a session thing, unfortunately. I'd love to play this kind of music more!
You can hear the rest of the session at the Tango Uniform page, and a related track at the Kala Din page.
