This is my first contribution to MeFiMu, so go easy on me!
This is a song by my band The Old Whores of San Pedro. We recorded it about 6 months ago in Sheffield UK we we reside. There is another track from the same session that's had some local radio play that I'll upload if you guys like this one! I'm the drummer and backing vocalist.

Wow, this is really nice. World Famous hit most of the salient points -- arrangment, harmonies, the organ bridge (and then -- handclaps!). I like the way it works itself up into a big epic sound -- that's really well done. And the ending is pretty sweet too.

Curses! There are way too many talented people showing up here these days. You're going to make the rest of us look bad.

Really, really nice. The drums and backing vocals are two of my favorite things about this song, so well done! Please post more. You didn't ask for criticism or anything, but I will say that the beginning made me feel uneasy, just because it was panned on the right for so long. I think moving the drum rolls at the beginning to the other side would balance that out pretty well.
Welcome!

Thanks so much for the comments. I agree with all the points about the mixing, it was done on the fly and although a pretty good job was done it was still a little rushed. We only had the studio for 12hrs, the engineer was great though, it was his idea for the piano stabs at the beginning which I think work really well.
I'll post the other track "The World's Most Blown Mind" soon. We have also booked another studio day for a week on Friday, so who knows what we will come up with then!

Oh yeah! Any criticism good or bad is more than welcome. So thanks for that Corduroy, panning the rolls would make a lot of sense.

Oh man. This song hit me right in the how I'm feeling at the moment. It's gorgeous, poppy, and I really dig the instrumentation. Keep 'em coming.

This is terrific. I know "this reminds me of..." statements are risky, but this makes me think of the music in the movie Once, or that old band the Waterboys, in that it is gut-driven and heartfelt without feeling overblown.
