Mr Brightside Accoustic ish

Just a quick Killers cover done on me new macbook pro. Used garage band and laptop's internal mic for the vocals. Got the girlfriend to play the keys for most of it. First attempt really :-)

I'm not a big Killers fan but that's some really nice production there.
And great vocals.
Welcome to Music!

Great job! You got pretty damn good quality out of GB and the internal mic.

I always thought it was "open up my eagle eyes." Is it actually "eager?" I suppose I could google that.

I like this song anyhow, and like your version of it an awful lot.

Fantastic -- thanks.

And in case anybody read through the comments but didn't want to Google, it is actually "open up my eager eyes" -- though I too used to think it was "eagle" and I didn't learn otherwise until, amusingly enough, I performed it doing karaoke with other MetaFilter folks here in Chicago.

(not that I recommend using the karaoke machine at Cafe Bong as your 100% accurate source for lyrics)

Yeah, my new favorite lyric in "Africa" is "I topped on old man along the way."

Love the comments everyone :-) just a bit of techy stuff, the keys are the onboard acoustic guitar sound in GB along with everything else. Some of the drums are programmed and other bits are in the samples section. The vocals are just straight sung into the macs internal mic. Bit of compression on vox then on the whole track along with a bit of reverb. Really impressed with Garage band although thinking about going on to Logic just for that pro sparkle in the quality..
Really should mention my very talented girlfriend who plays all the keys, she is the musically talented one really, I just like techy stuff............... Peace and Love
