DIG

This little slice of asymmetrical electronica with vocal is from the first Skist CD, released in 2002 and entitled Ellipsis. I recently made a video to accompany the song, viewable at YouTube.

Previous Skist tracks at MeFiMu, here, here and here.

dig (words by haruna ito)

layer after layer still
who spends breath to wonder
where to
how long
deep below
layer after layer now
how long

we are finally found
our teeth and ringed fingers
dusty eyes bewilder
can we go now
can we go there
our nails are shiny now
from this digging in the sand
sifted leaf by leaf

Excellent track. I like the skittish synths, and as always, Haruna's vocals are spot-on.

So that's you bumping the electronica? I'm not usually a big fan of such stuff, but this is really striking. While it is electronic, there's something very organic about it that really pulls me in. And who could NOT love that voice. Great stuff, man!

Thank you, sns and abc!

This is 2010 for real.

And recorded in 2002! Eight years ahead of its time!

Very nice track all around, and great vocal performance. What a great singer she is.
