You Came Out of Nowhere

i keep thinking there's something i need to do
and i keep not doing it
there's a truth i need to swallow
i'm not even chewing it
don't wanna face the situation
it's sad but it's a fact
you came out of nowhere then you went back

the sun's gone down a hundred times
baby since you left
little by little i've realized
you were a master of theft
the horse you told me to bet on
never made it to the track
you came out of nowhere then you went back

nowhere... where is that i wonder
past the third wrong turn
at the center of the cosmic blunder

last night i stood by the railroad tracks
as a big old train rolled by
all i woulda had to do was lean forward
it woulda been so easy to die
and the lies that you told me rattled around my mind
like the train wheels clickety clack
you came out of nowhere then you went back

nowhere... where is that i wonder
past the third wrong turn
at the center of the cosmic blunder

i see someone from the corner of my eye
but i don't bother to turn my head
it ain't you it's never you
just some other ghost instead
and it all feels like the final scene
i'm ready to fade to black
you came out of nowhere then you went back

Wistful and plaintive. That "not even chewing it" line is gold. You could sell that. I always enjoy the Flapjax sound. Thanks. Speaking of which, your recent live recordings have even better sound, unless I'm mistaken. Are you recording from the soundboard?

Thanks so much, PlanetKyoto.

As regards the sound quality, snsranch brought up that same point in a comment on another recent MeFiMu post of mine, so I'll link to my answer there.
