Top notch. There's a hollow center to this party tune which you clued into perfectly.

This is really nicely executed. You have a really great voice. It's funny how this song is often talked about as nonsense, like in the recent thread where it was placed in the category of a novelty song. A version like this suggests otherwise by making you hear the lyrics so differently.
unSane's right, there is a hollowness that you've pinpointed, but you are pretty gentle about it. You don't gut the song like, say, for example, Low might, by slowing it down to a glacial pace so that it feels like dwelling on last night's events the next day wracked with shame during a brutal hangover. I hear this as more like "Remember that party last week when we danced to that song? Man, it sucks that none of my friends aren't around today", as opposed to "Ke$ha is what's wrong with the universe, so I'm going to turn her drivel inside out."

Wow, thanks guys.
umbĂș: You are right when you say that this doesn't sound like a reaction against the "vapidity of pop music" or whatever.
I do genuinely enjoy the original song and trying to make an ironic version of it with elitist undertones would feel trite and contrived. Which is what I believe is wrong with a lot of indie music at the moment; the whole cooler than thou and detached attitude, at the expense at emotional communication.
It feels much better to make a version of what it would sound like if I actually wrote the lyrics and melody to that song. Same words but filtered through me, someone who is probably the polar opposite of what Ke$ha makes herself out to be.
