the house on the hill

a short burst of a soundtrack for an imaginary and possibly crap horror film.

this was made quite quickly in garageband using some freesound samples, a dab of synthesis and a snatch of processed double bass from something that i never quite finished.

I love how this is a sequence of aural events rather than a rigid track or song. The breaks make it pretty awesomely scary. Thinking of soundtracks, I was watching an old Hammer film last night, and this is exactly what it sounded like!

thanks. glad you liked it. yeah, some of those hammer films have great soundtracks. harry robinson did some corkers (as well as doing the string arrangement for nick drake's river man...)

Heh, this sounds like one of those "SPOOKY SOUNDS" vinyl records I had when I was a kid. Creaking Door! Haunted Music Box!

The last 30 seconds or so is pretty disturbing. Cool stuff.

The ending caught me off guard and made me sit straight up in my seat. Well done!

I really like that bizarre riff that starts from about 2.35....and then the knock on the door. You could use that riff more throughout I think....
