Great post Flapjax - really fascinating. I couldn't help smiling at the paintshop footage - facemasks etc were clearly for pussies in those days! Love those guys just cutting out the shapes on a bandsaw easy as pie - just think how much one of those Strats would cost now.........

That is so awesome. You want to reach through time and just grab one of those shiny new 52 year-old guitars. I'll take one of those lap steels, too.

do you realize that every guitar they are making in that film is a 1959 Fender? It boggles.
