Gauss

Lyrical noodling with units of measurement.
Math nerd funnies made me think of this old-ish song of mine. The music is a stew of Apple GarageBand roylaty-free loops, a creative process that got old real quick (and now I hear these little familiar snatches on cheaply made commercials and such all the time). This was one of my favorites though, constructed entirely of mostly bite-sized portions of clichés just stacked one on top of another.
Lyrics:
The measurement of action at a distance
extension, mass and time, the rhyme of resistance
The unbearable burden of being
of singing, writing, breathing, and seeing
Give me an inch, an ounce, and a second
A centimeter or a gram’ll do I reckon
Give me a magnet, give me a gauss
There’s a chemist rocking the acid house

Piled up on top of one another with the distorted lyrics on top, they created a pleasant mess. It evoked a little of that chugga chugga unstoppable train techno feeling that I like. And the lyrics are pretty great too, slumming with those royalty free loops.
