Little Lambs

Slept late while the wife and kids were out of town, woke up and wrote and recorded this. Without pants, naturally.
I wanted to do the pantless challenge, but I didn't have any material so I just picked a phrase out of the air and decided to riff on it. It's a bit sadder than I meant it to be...really I'm not that sad of a person (really!).

Wow, thanks for the kind words, cashman! Here's my setup:
-Garageband running on a 2009 13" MacBook Pro
-Apogee Duet (the older FireWire 400 version) for Audio Interface
-Shure SM7B for recording vocals
-Pianoteq Virtual Piano (played on an Axiom 61 MIDI controller)
-Eos for reverb
Any other effects are just the standard EQ or Compressor effects that come with Garageband. I also have Harrison Mixbus which I usually use for finishing tracks, but it's been giving me problems ever since I upgraded to Lion.
I guess the hard part for me is the waking up. I'm still trying to figure out how to go from pantless funtimes to actual fully-clothed success, but your compliments are Super Encouraging!

It's difficult for me to avoid the Ben Folds comparison--it really strikes me as similar (in the best of ways) to some of the sadder tracks on Whatever and Ever Amen--something like Evaporated or Cigarette. I mean it in the best way, as W&EA is one of my favourites. Simple, elegant, sad--even if you didn't mean it to be so--it's good sad. Very earnest. Aces.

I'm quite OK with the Ben Folds comparison, I really like him! W&EA was one of the formative albums of my youth.
Thanks for all the positive comments! It's always nice to find out that people like my music.

Wow, this is amazing! Your voice is, too, but if you're ever interested in female vocals, I'd love to work with you!

I like the off the cuff aspect of this otherwise very professional sounding playing/singing. Nice mixture.
