Ghosts Up (featuring Shannon)

October 31, 2006 1:27 AM

Despite the oft-publicized benefits of ghosthood, being a ghost may not be as great is commonly thought. This song (with vocals from my friend Shannon) explores issues faced by modern ghosts. Lyrics here.

I'm a bit confused. One can be corporal enough to operate a toaster and carry toast, yet unable to eat?

Great song though!

Thanks!

That is a good question! I think my pseudoscientific explanation is going to be that you can manipulate things, but you have no absorption or digestion mechanism. So, you can bite it apart, but whatever you bite will just fall through you. And given that taste involves actually allowing atoms to enter one's cells, you can't taste it, either.

Either that or "it's part of the ancient law of ghosts!"

Bloody hell, I was expecting another deadmetalfest and it was a complete surprise. Nice one, ignignokt. I think the mix can improve a little (there's bits where her voice is buried under the keyboard) but it's a really cool song. She has a very nice voice as well. Cheers.

Hmm, yeah. I'll probably try another pass at the mix eventually. Thanks.

It makes perfect sense. The wind, for example, can affect things but not contain or consume things.
