After many failed attempts, here is my contribution to the project.
Went through several ideas: a version using only casio-like sounds with a major-key feel and lame drum machine beats; a spare plucky string quartet thingy, a version with lutes and stuff, a really loud version with lots of pounding, a countrified version that just never took off.
Finally came to this. My preferred mode: a mic and a piano. This is something I would do at a lightly drunken open mic just for kicks. Just hit record and go, no retakes.
Sadly the mix is a bit of a mess but I'm in a time crunch and this was the best I could do.

Jesus is your piano made out of 300 year old California redwood studded with space diamonds or something? It sounds pretty fucking amazing.

Wow, thanks! Oh and TheRedArmy, I'm glad you liked the piano, but alas it's nothing special. It's not even real! It's a virtual piano from Pianoteq. No actual recorded samples, it only uses acoustic modeling which sounds kind woo but I really like the way it sounds.

Good God mate thats good. I can see what AskmeaboutLoom means about the IMF line. Having said that, please please post the casio one with the lame drums please because I totally want to hear that.

I still want all the half finished ones in a giant mashup/medley; mashup if the tempos/keys are different, medley if they're the same.

Seriously, you gave me goosebumps on the I.M.F. line--full body goosebumps. I really want to add a simple, soulful bass line and some subtle drums underneath, but at the same time, it's perfect as it is.
You never mentioned that you're secretly Fiona Apple's fraternal twin...damn...
