Subterranean Homesick Alien

Version # 7248 of this song. My entry into the OK Computer MeFi Challenge.

Back in the day, I bought OK Computer the week it came out. I spent the summer of 97 driving around singing to it at the top of my lungs. I tried to distill many of the elements of the overall album into this track.

When the intro started, was it wrong of me to sort of expect you to start singing in a Scottish accent, in soaring harmonies, a la Charlie and Craig? I'm delighted with the result nonetheless, but dammit, I kind of want the Subterranean Homesick Alien's Letter From America.

There swings darkly and I love it.

askmeaboutLOOM, I'm a quarter Scottish, so maybe it came through the Scottish collective unconsciousness when I was channeling the strummy guitar from the twisting neither.

Also, this is probably the only version of this song that's ever really made me wanna dance.

I don't know what all the "OK Computer Challenge" entails, but if this song doesn't win, y'all got bigger problems.
