In which I attempt to take the insufferable happiness of this song down a peg.

For this months "major-to-minor" challenge.

Wow, you just went right for the jugular with this one, didn't you. Outstanding transformation!

Yes yes pyramid that is an *excellent* idea LET'S DO A ZOMBIES CHALLENGE GUYS

Also chococat this is really great in a lot of ways. Love that greasy organ stuff.

Yeah, this is pretty much perfect. The bits all fit together so well, sort of nudged along by the bass, and it's just so mournful. For some reason, the tambourine really did it for me. That I can't explain.

I...I...well, ahem. That was sublime. I feel a little dazed.

Part of why this is really awesome is that you get distracted from the natural impulse to laugh at the uncanniness of the transformation by how pretty this sounds. Most excellent.

Love it. This style of cover/challenge is always a great way for lyrics to attain a new profundity, like the verse that ends with "I want you to stay."

I have always HATED this song. HATED it. You have performed alchemy once again, good sir.

Outstanding! Love how you end the chorus with "gooooooooood."

So, so great. All of it is right on, but my favorite part is the against the grain triplet phrasing of "Walk-ing-on..."
