A creeping tune the style of Melody Nelson era Serge Gainsbourg. Darcy Hancock from the Vancouver band Ladyhawk lends a squalling guitar solo.

When I read "Melody Nelson era Serge Gainsbourg," I set myself up to be disappointed, because that atmosphere is really hard to pull off. You pulled it off and then some. The production sounds really professional, and your voice sounds terrific. Kudos.

Well, damn. That was really good. Is this going on an album? BECAUSE I WOULD SO TOTALLY BUY AN ALBUM WITH THIS VIBE

Also are you, like, buddies with Darcy Hancock from Ladyhawk? *jealous*

umbĂș, I know what you mean. I kind of hate it when people compare themselves to albums I love. I didn't really know what else to write, if it wasn't that it would have been "this is a song that I wrote with drums and bass and electronics that sound like an orchestra", glad I did a serviceable approximation though it wasn't really the original intent of the idea for the song. It started out being a quiet/loud proto grunge thing, then morphed into something like Cosmic Dancer by T.Rex, then when I dropped the bass it basically became something more like Cargo Culte. Not that my vocals sound anything like Serge in this track..

Doleful, I'm not really sure what I'm doing with the tunes I'm working on. At one point I would've tried to release them and make them a thing. Now I think I'm just going to give them away and let them disappear into the internet void.

And yeah, I grew up in Kelowna where Darcy is from. We played in rival/friendly bands growing up. He's a really solid guy that can play the hell out of a guitar.

This is beeeeeaaaauuuutiful! I don't understand how you're not a huge indie star. The whole intro immediately slayed me, and the gorgeousness of the musical bed never lets up. Your singing is just superb -- it's sexy and expressive, and having heard other songs of yours, I know that you can do different vibes that each suit the song at hand.

Also, I'm an idiot about bass, but the bass in this song is insanely great.

This is a fantastic track! If you are not a indie star, this is a track that should make you into one.

At least, put this track (along with chosen others) on bandcamp or something, so I can spam links to my friends and family and tell them about this awesome artist!

1:28 where your creaky voice rolls into dark, breathy words that I can barely make out...I don't know what that is but the sound is absolutely incredible.
