Chapter 9 Blues

My Raffle Request submission. "An over-dramatic, serious blues song about the trials and travails of local politics (like Parks and Rec), featuring lots of crazy citizen requests at public meetings". I wasn't sure about the Parls and Rec. element. I don't watch the show but did take a peek at a vid of an episode which featured a demented public forum. I´ve included the lyrics

Chapter 9 Blues

They´re cutting real deep, throwing folks out on the street
They´re cutting real deep, fiddling with their balance sheets
All they do is talk some shit and work hard on their cheats

Cops and firemen are on strike, garbage pickup lost its crew
Cops and firemen are on strike, garbage pickup lost its crew
only heat we're getting here is when this burns through and through

The mayor is in hiding, commioners are too,
The mayor is hiding, commioners are too,
It's bankrupt city here and sure smells like a coup

And the governor´s boys is taking over, looking all around
And the governor´s boys is taking over, looking all around
the ones here looted budgets sold off good downtown

folks at meetings don´t care about no cuts
all they do is holler while scratching up their butts
demanding ham and mayonaise and a place to walk their mutts

This city ain't at no crossroads, it's lost and sinking fast
This city ain't at no crossroads, it's lost and sinking fast
So I am going home to Detroit cause home is sure to last

I'm glad you included the lyrics, they're awesome. The ham and mayonnaise line killed me.
