Your Racist Friend

January 10, 2015 12:50 PM

My contribution to the MeFi Flood Covers project.

Sometimes everything I do seems to turn to cheese. This was one of those times. Sorry...

It was great fun to do though. Now to listen to the others :)

This is great. Please, please tell me that recorder/ocarina is real and not sampled. Is it?

Thank you. It's a tin whistle, so yes, real.

Hey, I like it. Your accent adds something to it, it's like it's sung by Wakko Warner.

The bass is tremendous! Really great job.

That bass is really sweet. I love the instrumentation. This song has a wonderful, cool, mellow vibe.

Yeah, the mellow vibe makes it. This is one of my favorite songs on the album and I dig this version.

Well done. TMBG were full of cheese as well, so this sounds like a loving tribute to cheese. And a scathing indictment against racists. with cheese.

Every time I listen to this, my brain pretends it's the guest band interlude in an episode of The Young Ones.

Yes, or a show where the Young Ones play the main characters in Barney Miller, and this is the theme song over the title credits.

Hahaha! Yes, The Great Big Mulp and not_on_display have hit the nail on the head with Young Ones... this is great!
(And I, like George Costanza, equate cheese with freedom.)

You have no reason to feel resentful about my friend the bassist when you play the bass so well yourself.
