Breathe/Pigs Medley

A proof of concept. This was our first complete take at this at rehearsal a couple weeks ago. My prog tribute project, The Yes Men. All live, recorded in the garage by John.

I've always wanted to play Pigs in this band, but John thought it was too long & tedious in the middle, so we stuck half of it (& a tiny piece of Have a Cigar) in the middle of Breathe. We weren't sure the pieces would glue together until we played this back.

No one's learned their parts note for note yet, so it's got some guitar noodling in it, & I have sort of added some generic Waters bass fills where they seemed appropriate. I flubbed Gilmour's badass bass credenza in Pigs a little bit, but man, i love playing that.

I'm playing Brian's 90-something Japanese P-bass through John's 50-watt Marshall (miced) & a TC Electronics RH450, direct out. Pretty freaking happy with the tone.

That's a pretty impressive cover! Your singer's got David Gilmour just about down.

Last rehearsal, we started adding in The Great Gig In The Sky, replacing the scat vox with more guitar noodling. The lead guitarist needs to learn her melody, but I think it's gonna work. Clocks at 16 minutes, now! Will be the centerpiece of a 3 or 4 song live set.

That bass is so meaty. I love it. Makes me miss my old band.
