This is the kid friendly version (no booze or smokes). I really avoid singing, but I'm trying to learn.

That's some wonderfully chill gittar strummin', sns, and I find your vocal most charming. Very nice!

I found this song a couple of days ago at a really cool site called ezfolk.com cause the owner of the site added my band to his myspace friends. Not being an American, I had only heard it in the O' Brother... soundtrack.
When I found it yesterday I remembered how much I liked it then, but I didn't really like the version I found. This one, on the other hand, is really cool. And I think flapjax found the perfect word for it, your voice sounds charming.
Right on, mate. it was really cool to hear your version of it. You sound a lot more comfortable than some months ago. Did you get that condenser mic in the end?

Thanks for the great words folks. Mica, no. Santa actually looked it up for me but we decided not to get it. Maybe when I sing enough to make it worth it I'll look into it again. Yoo Hoo!

I was asking 'cause I got one for Christmas and everything they told you on the thread was true, the difference is unbelievable. One thing that happens with it is that since it captures EVERYTHING, it's less of a struggle to sing. (and you have to be a lot more careful, because it will catch things that a regular mic -I used to use a SM58- would miss).
I'm a terrible singer, and singing is an uphill battle for me, but the new condenser mic actually makes it a lot easier, so, in case you are having doubts, believe me, it's worth every penny. I've been really busy lately, but hopefully some time soon I'll get some time to record something new and perhaps you can hear the difference in the quality there.

micayetoca, congrats on the new mic! I can't wait to hear you on it. I'm using the SM58 now too and it seems pretty good for instuments, but I'll definately read that thread again and reconsider.
