3 - not coming home - vampire deer

March 26, 2017 3:10 PM

song 3 of my rpm album, 10 pounds of blues in a 5 pound bag

all i know is my baby's not coming home
left her by the station - she said she had to roam
she was talking in her sleep but she wasn't talking to me
i think she's scared of something but she won't just let it be
got up in the morning don't know what kind of life i have
but then i just don't know what kind of life i had

OK here's the funny thing I sometimes think of when I hear a song of yours, like this particular one:

(1) how few people comment on your songs

(2) how much you and flapjax at midnite have in common underneath the psychotic psychedelic you layer on top of it.

Yet flapjax's songs get so many more comments. Not that this is a "fishing for comments" contest, but it's good to get feedback on shit you write. So how come people kinda step back when they hear your stuff? I think it's brilliant. But I bet you'd hear some interesting critiques if people kinda stepped up and said what they thought of your music. That is if they could bear to listen. (As I said, I like it a lot.)

i don't know, it's always been like that; most people have shown anything from indifference to outright hostility (not here) - back in the 70s, when i was doing college coffeehouses, i was able to chase half the people out of any room, any time, and that was just me and a guitar

now that i've got that multitrack recording studio i've always dreamed of, the world's the limit - for people to escape me, of course ...

but i'm glad you listen

i'm not really sure i'm after "interesting critiques" - i just kind of do what i do and next time i'll try to make it different because that's what i do
