I have rerecorded this one two or three times since I wrote it in fall of '05. I've never really been able to sing it the way I really want to, which would sound a little like a mix of Brandi Carlile, KT Tunstall, and Janis Joplin (my voice just wasn't made that way). This is the closest I've ever gotten. Hohner-Gruhn guitar, Audio-Technica mic, and GarageBand.

Well, inside your head it may not sound like you want it to, but outside it sounds very good. You know? I actually like the way your voice sounds in this one more than in the others you've post.

The others are better recorded, and they may be a bit more complex vocally, but I like this, more raw, sound. Congrats.

I like this. I'm gonna go listen to your other stuff that mica is alluding to, but I wanted to comment on this first.

I like your voice, and strongly prefer your head voice/upper register. You're having to work too hard on the lower register, and being forceful, and it's screwing with your timbre. In contrast, your head voice is light, agile, and quite pleasing.

It sounds like you have more left up top. If this is true, transpose it up a few tones or grab your capo. See what you think.

In your head, I would think less Janis Joplin and more Joni Mitchell.

I just listened to the rest of your stuff, and I knew you didn't belong down there in the cellar!

I like your stuff. A lot. Good work.
