The Home Ruler Set

Another set from some recent recording - two Irish hornpipes on guitar and octave mandolin.

These two traditional tunes are "The Home Ruler", a very sweet little tune in D major, and the charmingly-titled "Nellie Your Favour I'm Afraid I'll Not Gain" in E dorian. Each tune has a few guitars, and the first includes some octave mandolin.

I spent a few months last year teaching myself clawhammer banjo, and although I loved the sound of these hornpipes and reels, I could never get my fingers around them.

They're lovely on guitar!
