OP-1 Clicks and womms

Recently got a Teenage Engineering OP-1 and this is a first attempt to put the 4-track through it's paces. It's a noisy little thing, extremely digital. In addition decided to put this together without any sequencers so the rhythms are... inconsistent. This is straight out of the device, no additional processing.

Okay having actually listened to this, I like it a lot. That spring reverb is just unmistakable, but you'd never guess that this came out of a small computer—it sounds so chunky and physical.

I’m learning to love the tin-can reverb. Overdubbing allows for some amazing depth. Currently trying to figure out resampling thru the drum kit which is a pretty amazing feature.

I've only recently (after owning the device for several years) begun to understand the potential of resampling. HOT TIP: You can lift sections from the tape, then switch over to the sampler synth and drop the lifted section directly in as a sample. I didn't learn that until a couple of months ago, and it's transformed how I use the sampler.

Oh also! Some of my tracks, and some others, are on the OP-1 tag.

Thanks for the tip! Found your tracks, you’re giving me some new ideas. I’ll use the tag in the future.
