Audio Tape From Paradise
May 16, 2019 6:06 PM
The source material here is a reel to reel tape from my Uncle in Paradise California recorded in 1971.
Our families live all over the world and swapped audio tapes to stay close.
The other side had a recording of us as children in an end of year school or church concert. I used chunks of that stretched out and backwards then soaked it in reverb.

Hey thanks both for the comments. (I love GYBE so much by the way.) The piece has developed a bit but is close to done.
A friend of mine and myself recorded some tracks of a Theremin through an old Korg and I'm trying to get that stuff knocked into shape and make and album for him (his memory really) so the current version has a bassy Theremin solo in the middle now.
Thanks Garth.
He lived in New Plymouth and Mt Taranaki stood majestically out his kitchen window. A film stand in for Fuji.
The working title of the album is "100 Dreams Of The Mountain". Referencing both La Mont Young and the Hokusai prints.
