It Don't Matter Who's First In Line

September 30, 2019 1:33 PM

My golly, it's been years since I posted here! Shame on me. I miss the MeMu community. I recently released an album of kids' music, and thought I'd share a tune here. It's a classroom song about that age-old problem: cutting in line.

I just released the album Songs To Sit Criss-Cross To (But Dance If You Want) under the band name The Tallest Kid In The Room. Recorded over a year or so (while I was teaching first grade), these are classroom tunes about lining up, cleaning up, band-aids, and saying goodbye.

Oh, and here's a fun change of pace for me: these songs were actually mixed and mastered by pros! Fun!

I really like the polish on these. All you need now is a Schoolhouse Rock style animated music video.

This has an Arlo Guthrie/Devendra Banhart quality to it that I like. Eminently whistleable.

Your voice sounds so warm and classic here. I love the bass, and the whistling/instruments at the end. Here's to toeing that fine line between melancholy and upbeat in a children's song.

Excited that you've posted again, and to listen to the rest of this album!

I came here looking for Nentre Pas because it was a song fundamental in getting me through a tough time many moons ago :) <3
