Eyes Closed

Another pop song with the classic pop band instrumentation

I never thought you could do the things you did
just to put me in the wall
you hold me with your eyes closed
yeah you hold me with your eyes closed

I can't imagine how we went so long
did the famine bring you back?

and you boast
how you're coming close
and your normal thoughts pan into
a whole new kind of the bitter ex
you're vulnerably violent

You can tell who I can imagine selling this back;
maybe when I'm returning host, in the bedroom you'll be winning
hold me with your eyes closed
and you hold me with your eyes closed

And now I just got done such a long line of living
and though I was seldom missed
with that full sound ceiling
hold me with your eyes closed
won't you hold me with your eyes closed

You said I like your sound
but when we tried debating
I found you in your home
And you hold me with your eyes closed

And you'll never take it back
And you'll never call me back

And you know
All of your thoughts on the boulevard
I had debated this
I had the painter's blues

You don't know what's in store
a long road and petty throes

Like your style
Like a tightrope

Alone with a pack of wolves
And a thousand failed rules
You were told, and you fought it

And you'll never take it back
And you'll never call me back
And you'll never want me back

I like the vocal delivery a lot. I can't put my finer on what it reminds me of. I'm somewhere over in the region of a Chris Holmes/Yum Yum https://youtu.be/_vGc5BvMf_I kind of thing.
Anyway, very much my bag once upon a time.

Hey thanks! That was actually the part I was most insecure about with this one. The vocals are definitely very hushed/whispery out of necessity.

Thanks for the link, never heard of this band but I really dig this!
