HONKY-TONK COUNTRY SINGLE “THAT ONE LAST ROSE”

"That One Last Rose" is an original, traditional honky-tonk country song, in the style of Buck Owens, Ray Price, Dwight Yoakam. Playing on it (and on the album it comes from, Last Rose) are some incredible, truly legendary musicians. Byron Berline, Dan Dugmore, and, on other songs on the album, Jason Carter, and Kristin Scott Benson. See my website for more information. [more inside]

Birds

Long time no tunes! A simple tune on the classical guitar, sketched out after my daily struggle to learn Chopin & Satie songs. Birds, for interest.

Puttin' on the Ritz

The Irving Berlin classic. Me fiddling around in a jazzy cover. Multiple vocals, a little guitar, and one persistent shaker. An amalgam of all the ssets of lyrics used since it was originally written. [more inside]

Innocence

Straightforward classic pop. I banged it out in GarageBand yesterday. Music and lyrics by me. I also did the vocals, guitars, and bass tracks. Plenty of rough edges I know (my voice isn't great, the guitar solo should really be horns, and the drums sound a bit lifeless), but otherwise I think it came out pretty well. Back to studying for the bar exam! [more inside]

Rock The Casbah

What with revolutions going on in the Middle East, this seems like a particularly appropriate song right now. It's a cover of the Clash's fantastic original, although I have to say I'm not sure Joe Strummer would recognise it as being anything close to his creation. Video version is here. [more inside]

GeekyLoop

I made this a while ago...it's a simple loop with beats and "chords" created from Mac system sounds (pre-OSX). It would be awesome if someone did something with it.

That's All

I'm jumping back into music with both feet right now, so here's another rehearsal recording for your listening pleasure. This sweet tune was introduced by Nat King Cole back in 1952. You young whippersnappers probably remember it from elsewhere though. Sigh. [more inside]

"My Generation" Remix

A cool remix I created of the Who's classic song "My Generation". Enjoy!

You Are My Sunshine

Let's call it EMOldtimey. Or, really, let's not. It's not a damned clean rendition, but with this old heartbreaker you don't have to be. My pre-verbal niece was purported to love it, and that's good enough for me.
