Samples from the film noir The Pay Off over beats, with some choppy Benny Goodman samples thrown in for melody. [more inside]
Virgil's The Aeneid and Coronet Films' The Powers of Congress sampled over a breakbeat, with some chopped-up classical music thrown in. [more inside]
Lots of sampling, but I'm so seriously stoked by this piece. You will be, too.
I have been composing this piece for quite some time now and I am happy with the current result uploaded here. It's a fun, jazzy, bopping track with overdriven drums, horns, and a surprise guest named "Flute". Enjoy.
Song based on a disturbing mic in track recording I found. Here's the original (warning: I mean it when I say it's disturbing).
I assembled this track for the Sonny Bono is Dead compilation, which looks like it's never going to see the light of day. The title and subtitle are anagrams of the original piece of music which would have fallen into public domain had the Mickey Mouse Protection Act not passed.
A number of mic in tracks are people testing their microphones, and since many of those people use "testing 1-2-3" for their mic checks, I decided to make a waltz out of them. By the way, the guy singing "testing 1-2-3" is not pitch-shifted. He sang the phrase a few different times in his mic in track, and I cut-and-pasted his 1's, 2's and 3's to make a semi-melody.

Everybody seems to think it's so important that you have to grab for money all the time. Seems to be the main goal in everybody's life.
Downtempo track played live with improvised noise bits and fx. For more, see http://www.albertoforero.com
This track is part 2 of a 23 minute mega mash up with a steady beat and some obscure samples. When I played this set live, I was happy to see people breakin' to it. Cool! http://www.albertoforero.com

Another mic in track track, built around an audio love letter sent to some girl named Holly. You can hear the original letter (done in two takes) at the above link. Look for "I Love You Holly"; it's about two-thirds the way down the list.
This is the opening song from my Comfort Stand EP, "mic in track," consisting of songs created from anonymous personal recordings that were (unwittingly) shared on p2p networks. You can hear many more examples on my homepage. I used FruityLoops (FL Studio) to make the music, GoldWave to make the samples, and AudioGnome (primarily) to find the original mic in tracks.
Shakuhachi player meets Roberta Flack, Redd Foxx and John Wilbye in a bar. "for if one flaming dart come from her eye, was never dart so sharp, ah, then you die, you die."
