Naturelle 2
I bought an old Steinway upright recently, on which I've been making pieces like this, which I call "naturelles."
Three more naturelles on Bandcamp, here: https://raygull.bandcamp.com/album/naturelles-1-4 [more inside]
Signal Tower
Semi-ambient modern synth pad instrumental with minimalist electronic bass, reversed electric guitar, and some pretty and deliberate vinyl crackle-ish soft static noise and a gentle mix of treated samples. Maybe sort of cinematic? [more inside]
To All Our Known Energies
Downtempo ambient generative probabilistic instrumental. [more inside]
Full
This is the first track from my album Rituals. It's an instrumental. I make vocal music primarily, and the two instrumentals on this album ("Full" and "Fugue") are the first two instrumentals I've produced. [more inside]
Wintry Mix
An ambient/drone piece from my newly released album Float (pay-what-you-want on Bandcamp). I'm breaking a habit of expressing anxiety and foreboding through my music, and aiming to spread some tranquility and wonder instead. [more inside]
These Few Hours (Original Soundtrack)
Instrumental piece I recorded for the Short, "These Few Hours".
Soundtrack I Recorded for the Short "Inhumane"
I recently recorded this soundtrack for the short "Inhumane". I have linked the video below if watching the finished product is more your speed. let me know what you think.
A Natural Carpet
A psuedo-guitar-like ambient song performed on modular synthesizer. This is the third track on my new release Nereus, available on Bandcamp. [more inside]
High Tide (Soundtrack Composed for a Silent Short)
This is a piece I recorded for a silent short comprised of Public Domain footage from 1936 taken from the Prelinger Archives. let me know if you'd like me to share the video.

Beautiful Moment / Talk to Her @Ummagma
So I've uploaded the track for 'Beautiful Moment' here, but I also want you to have the track ''Talk to Her'', so grab it here. The first is laced with male vocals, while the second is an instrumental with guitar trickery reminiscent of Robert Fripp or Brian Eno or even Bill Evans a bit.
Blizzard
This is one of those "let's drift away" songs... hazy gazey spacey and dreamy all in one… If one is prone to daydreaming or aural hypnosis, this may not be the song for you :) Just the same, this is definitely worth a listen to all others. This is Sounds of Sputnik.
Talk to Her
There is always that belief out there that musicians often self-create bad situations in their lives so that they have something to write about. ;)
Well, here is one track that actually was written as an apology after a lovers' quarrel :) Oh yeah... [more inside]
Visualization
Everybody likes music for partying mode, but what happens afterwards? This song would be the perfect accompaniment for the comedown afterwards (and even the hangover). Chill, centered, reflective, harmonious. I think :) [more inside]
Metonym
All guitar, quiet music. This one has a guitar solo. In this place the streets are empty at night, but you can never be sure that you're alone.
J.S. Bach
When the radiant bliss of classical music comes to enter the realm of dream pop ambient downtempo, something serene yet pensive may be the result, as in the case of this track.
Initially when we composed this track, there were lyrics and vocals, but then our computer blew and somehow the vocals didn't survive. Today it is an instrumental.
Staying In
The melodies are starting to fade. The references aren't what you think they are. Perhaps it's a deformed cousin of another's previous post.
The Day Of
Quiet music, but too active and guitar solo-y to properly call ambient. Moody. An argument happened and it sounded nothing like this.
Fallow
The previews end. The feature starts, quietly. Ambient instrumental cowboy music.
Wizard of Oz IV
More experimentation with synths and fx. [more inside]
Nineteen Thousand Sunsets
Ambient instrumental piece. It's a rather ambient dialog between the guitar and a bell-like sine synth. Long pauses. Slow paced. Throughout my life, one of my constant joys was always watching the sun go down. I've seen so many variations of this event that I wanted to express a condensation of the variety and bittersweetness of all those sunsets.

My Sister the Giant
I'm doing an album this month, and this is the first thing I've recorded for it. I think the album will be mostly or completely instrumental, but we'll see. [more inside]
oslo nights
This is a quiet, meditative, minimalist instrumental piano piece, with occasional visits by vibes, fretless bass and lap steel guitar. You might want to play it somewhat loudly to hear some of the softer notes. Do you think it's finished, or should I add something? [more inside]
Introvertigo
Everyone's afraid of falling inside. Especially so when alone.
Instrumental, post-apocalyptic, cthulhutronica. [more inside]
Watch The Flowers Being Bombed Quietly
Revisiting a form we haven't attempted in a few months: ambient.
Sanbian

glass spiders
In a cave, several hundred feet underground, a mysterious glow can be seen in the distance. Beyond the dark corridors, a strange music fade in as you're getting close. The spiders are here, tall as houses, moving gracefully, feeding their babies, chanting soft lullabies under the crystal dome of a large chamber. One of them approaches and weaves shining threads of sound. You're not really frightened. Actually you feel rather comfortable as you're listening to the friendly speech. Going back ?
mobile
like the ones which hang from the ceiling and slowly revolve.
vamp
hi,
here's the sequel to my previous post, lo-fi vamp. During a jam with a friend, I unearthed the two chords vamp from my memory and we noodled a little bit around it. He recorded my rhythm guitar part and a solo, and said he could be working on it in order to add something more orchestral to these basic tracks. Well, he's got craft but my vamp now sounds like a soft porn movie soundtrack to my ears.
Drone - 2005.03.29
Here's one of my earlier experiments in drone music. It's electric guitar, played live through delay, fuzz and volume pedals.
The Earthquake was a Disaster
Picture yourself experiencing an earthquake in slow motion. The eerie calm beforehand leading up to the main event itself. Relax and let yourself live through this instrumental story all the way to the finale.
Sprinkled with memories of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
