Where My Mind Goes
The artist formerly known as unSane here, now posting as Sportswriters because that's my band and to a large extent it grew out of my experiences here. I grew disillusioned with MeFi overall but Music will alway have a piece of my heart. We're now recording an album which I'll start posting soon but in the meantime, I sat on the porch and wrote a murder ballad. Here's a very rough demo. Very much influenced by Chuck Jackson, Aaron Neville and Little Anthony and the Imperials, dripping in vibrato guitar and soul chops. I think the final version will have some spooky strings and backing vocals, and not be as out of time as this!
Harpies at the Bar
This is a song about what a serial murderer might feel like after he's been at it for so long he can hardly stand it anymore. [more inside]
William's Face
Separate My Heart
A little synth-folk ditty, with my friend Alaina singing lead. The idea was to write a murder ballad from the woman's perspective.
Ballad of the Mountain Creek Lake Park Hill Forest Trail Spring Creek Park Murders
Country Death Song
They Never Found Her Head
No Time to Cry
My first new song in quite a long time, recorded in as deliberately lo-fi and distorted a manner as possible, because that's what I like. I'm now 40, so it's time for me to start singing country. Therefore, I have written a murder ballad. [more inside]
Love You To Death
A real dirty blues track about murder, complete with slide guitar solo and a nice heavy beat. It's still a rough mix so will have to tweak a few bits and pieces.
Confession
True story. Kid owes drug dealers money, so he tells them his aunt is on her way home from cashing her tax refund check. She is gunned down on her porch in front of spouse and kids.
