Summer bubblegum pop-rock-schlock with the merest hint of Huey Lewis & The News - like the faint but unmistakable whiff of blocked drains on a hot day. I mean.....c'mon....what's not to like? Don't answer that. [more inside]
Song description....let's see......ummmm.......it's a pop song. Enjoy. [more inside]
An admittedly inconsequential but strangely catchy (to my ears) little ditty and, in the fantasy world of 7" coloured vinyl singles, one of the b-sides to the forthcoming I've Got A Feeling That I'm Everything I Never Wanted To Be. Which, belying its Smiths-esque title, is shaping up as pure late '70's power-pop. [more inside]
My take on mid-60s frat rock. [more inside]
Fun break up song about relationship revenge. As usual, the track is all original with me wearing all the hats. The synths are from my Fantom X, guitar sounds processed through POD Farm 2, and the drums are a combo of Fleetwood Total Drumming onshots and 909 samples in GURU. [more inside]
needs editing, and i need to rework the rythm of the lyrics
This song is about the Cat which died in the Tree. [more inside]
A poorly recorded and very early demo of, I think, may be a promising track. Anyone think it's worth re-recording? If so, suggestions about edits/arrangement/modulations/translocations/ululations/deletions of discombobulations are welcome. [more inside]
I tend to take a lot of pictures. I found out early on in my photo-taking tenure that the more pictures I took, the more likely that some of them would come out nicely. Of course, I’m always the one behind the camera. As a parent, I also have wondered just how much of the time I spend with my kids they will remember (if any). My father recently asked me if I remembered how we used to watch Star Trek together. I honestly couldn’t remember. He was crushed. It occurred to me that many years down the road when my kids look at our family pictures they won’t see me in any of them because I was the one behind the camera. Something tells me that this detail will be lost on them as they repeat the cycle and tell me they don’t remember me being there. ;) [more inside]

a townshend lament, inspired by (and partially stolen from) this song by Me, The Snake. [more inside]
A cool remix I created of the Who's classic song "My Generation". Enjoy!
Half way through working on this I started to realize how stupid and ridiculous it was but it's definetely not the worst thing I've posted, or maybe it is, I dunno. [more inside]
Were my rock band to have a "hit single," it would be this. It filts squarely into the description of "thrilling guitar driven indie-rock music" if that's your thing. [more inside]
My music production skills really decline when I throw shrooms into the mix... but oh god, the IDEAS
An bluesy diddy by my buddy Black Jake
The Great Big Mulp + snsranch + collaboration = Hell Yea!
Potent LIVE segway track. Performed on a digital recording answering machine, recorded using a micro-cassette player.
Singing and guitar and clapping and beerbottle flute and self-reflection. I posted this to the old music.metafilter.com back in 2003.
