paint another layer on

Ever get drunk and watch daytime tv and then get kinda pissed off? This is an oldy, but I've been playing it with my band lately, so I revamped it and remixed it.

words:
talk-show charity case, when you're blind you don't care if you lose and eye.
so it's all fun and games. play by ear because now pictures only lie.
you've got that innocent look, so now I can't believe a single word you say.
all that you've got to do is let the magnets kindly clear the noise away.
let the jilted sing only for revenge, not for mended hearts or made amends, just made over and born again. touched up by sacred hands.

pale and naked and white. she told me that i had to show her mine first.
nobody gets it right, somehow I thought maybe I might be the first.

go on and get lost. do you shed your skin or paint another layer on?
can you get back what you give up?

I love the feel of this. It's the perfect combination of loose and tight. The subwoofer tone of the bass, the vocals, the weird little coda. This is awesome.

Super, love that little calliope kind of outro at the end. Does your band have a website?

thanks guys.
no website yet, nanojath. just finally finalized the lineup. i'll remember to drop you a line when we have one up. i've posted demo versions of most of the songs we play, tho, so mefi music is pretty much our website at the moment.

I really like the vox and that twiddly staccato riff.

I like the raw recording feel, but its still polished. Great verse/chorus transition.

Yeah, it sounds great going ino the chorus with that sort of blossoming.

I really like this! To me, it's like what the Strokes try to do but never quite can. This has edge, character, and an (intentional) imperfectness that I really dig.
